Not legal advice; not a law firm
TextExhibits is software that formats message exports into PDF documents. We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice. Nothing on this site, including the guides, creates an attorney–client relationship. The guides are general information about rules and procedures; they may not apply to your court, your jurisdiction or your facts, and rules change. Always read the current official rule (each guide links to its sources) and consider asking a lawyer, legal aid or your court’s self-help center.
Courts decide what is admissible
No software can make evidence admissible. Whether a transcript is accepted, and what authentication a court requires (often your own testimony that the messages are genuine), is decided by the court under its rules. TextExhibits does not guarantee that any document will be accepted.
What the PDF is, and is not
- It reproduces the content of the export file you provided, after the filters and redactions you chose. We cannot know whether an export is complete or genuine.
- It is not a forensic examination of a phone and does not recover deleted messages.
- The SHA-256 fingerprint shows whether another file is byte-for-byte identical to the one you used. It does not prove who wrote the messages or that the export is complete.
- Automatic redaction can miss unusual formats. Review every page before filing or sharing.
- WhatsApp exports carry no time zone. The time zone printed on the PDF is the one you declared.
