TextExhibits

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-22

TextExhibits ("we") is operated by Amara Digital Ventures LLC. Contact: [email protected].

The short version

  • Your chat and message files are never uploaded. The tool reads the file you choose inside your web browser, builds the PDF on your device and saves it to your device. We do not receive, store or see your messages, attachments, or the PDF.
  • The tool page is served with a Content-Security-Policy that only allows network connections back to this website. Checkout happens on Stripe’s own page, sold through Link, in a separate tab.
  • We do not use analytics or tracking anywhere on the site. Ads (Google AdSense) may appear on guide pages only, never on the tool, home, pricing or help pages.
  • Fonts are served from this site, so pages make no requests to font services.

What is processed and where

Data Where it goes Why
Your export file (WhatsApp, SMS, CSV), its contents and attachments Stays in your browser’s memory; discarded when you close or reload the page To build your PDF
SHA-256 hash of your file Calculated in your browser and printed in your PDF. For a one-PDF purchase it is saved in your browser’s local storage next to your unlock; it is not sent to us or to Stripe To bind a one-PDF purchase to one file
Unlock token After payment our server checks the Stripe Checkout session and gives your browser a signed token (plan, Stripe session ID, expiry). It is saved in local storage (key te.unlock) and sent back to this site to be checked before paid exports. We keep no database of tokens To unlock paid exports
Email and receipt or invoice number you type into “Restore your purchase” Sent to this site, which uses them once to look up your purchase in our Stripe account; not stored by us To restore a purchase in another browser
Your email address from checkout After your payment is confirmed, our server reads your email from your Stripe Checkout session and sends you one email with your restore link and your receipt or invoice number. We send it through Resend, our email provider, which processes your address and the message only to deliver it. We don't use it for marketing and don't track opens or clicks. On your payment in our Stripe account we save only a marker (te_email_sent, the email's ID at Resend) so it is sent once. To send you the purchase email you need to restore access (contract)
Restore count A counter (te_activations) saved on your payment in our Stripe account To limit restores to 3 per purchase
Payment details, name, email, billing address, order details Collected by Link, the merchant of record, on Stripe’s checkout page; card numbers never reach us. Link shares order details with us (see “Payments (Stripe / Link)” below) To take payment, calculate and pay taxes, send your receipt and handle refunds
Standard web request data (IP address, user agent, requested URL) Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes it to serve and protect the site Security and delivery

Payments (Stripe / Link)

Purchases of TextExhibits are processed by Sold through Link, LLC and its affiliates within Stripe ("Link"). Link is the merchant of record. When you buy, Link collects your payment details, name, email, billing address (and tax ID if you provide one), and order details. Link uses this data to take payment, calculate and pay taxes, prevent fraud, send receipts, provide payment and refund support, handle disputes, and comply with the law. Link handles this data under its own privacy policy, and for some activities it may also act as our service provider.

We do not receive or store your full card number. Link shares order details with us, such as your name, email, country, the product bought, the price, tax, and refund or dispute status. We use these details to provide the service, answer support requests, and keep accounting and tax records. Our use of them is covered by this policy. Your chat files are never part of a payment: they stay in your browser.

To delete data that Link holds about your purchase, follow Link's instructions. For data that we hold, contact us at [email protected].

Email (Resend)

We send purchase emails through Resend, a service of Plus Five Five, Inc. (USA), which acts as our service provider and processes your email address and the message on our instructions to deliver them. Resend keeps delivery logs for a limited time under its own retention settings. Resend Privacy Policy: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy

Advertising on guide pages

Our guide pages (under /guides/) may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads and measure them, based on your visits to this and other sites. Learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services and manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform asks for your choice before personalized ads are shown, and you can change it later with the “Privacy choices” link in the footer of guide pages. See Cookies & consent. The tool page has no ads and loads no ad scripts.

Your choices and rights

Because we do not hold your messages, there is nothing to delete on our side. You can remove your saved unlock with the “Remove from this browser” button in the tool or by clearing your browser’s site data. For purchase records held in our Stripe account, email us and we will help. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold; email [email protected].

Legal basis (EEA/UK)

We process the limited data above to provide the service you ask for, including your purchase email (contract), to keep the site secure (legitimate interests), and, for personalized ads on guide pages, on the basis of your consent. You can complain to your local data protection authority.

Some of our providers (Cloudflare, Resend, and Stripe/Link) are based in or process data in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the EEA or UK, it is protected by those providers' data processing terms, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK addendum, or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where they are certified.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA).

We will update this page if our practices change and revise the date above.
